Sign-Up for Auditions!

Audition sign-ups are now open for the 2020 production of MARY POPPINS!
Please read all the information below for directions and links.

Before you sign-up:

Make sure you have completed this participation form (If you haven’t yet, do it now and then proceed to the audition sign-up.)

Make sure you are eligible to participate:

For Adult participants:

  • You live in BP school boundary lines.
  • You have been in a BP show before (but may possibly have moved to a different area of town).
  • You were once a child in the BP show and are now an adult - therefore grandfathered in as alumni.

For Youth leads (roles of Jane, Michael, and Neleus):

  • 5th - 8th grader at Burns Park or Tappan student or alumni.
  • Any 5th graders who are not offered a youth lead role are still eligible to participate in the children’s ensemble if interested!

Does this information also pertain to the child ensemble?

Nope! If you have a 1st - 5th grader who is interested in participating in the children’s ensemble, make sure you have signed your family up in our participation form.

Adult Auditions: November 13th and 14th, 7-10pm.
Youth Lead Auditions: November 20th from 7-10pm.

Each audition evening will be divided in two halves, with choreography taking place in the middle of the evening at 8:30-9pm (so regardless of your time slot, plan to be present from 8:15-9pm for that portion of the audition).

Tappan Middle School Auditorium (2251 E Stadium Blvd).

How to Sign Up:

Please follow the links below to sign up for your audition time slot. Please arrive 10-15 min earlier than your sign-up time so you can settle in and fill out some paperwork.

Remember that your time slot is in addition to the choreography time from 8:30-9pm, so if you sign up for an early time, plan to stay until 9pm. If you sign up for a later time slot, please plan to arrive by 8:15.

What to expect:

During your time slot, you will be invited into the auditorium to sing your song choice & read an excerpt from the script. (Please be prepared to speak with an English accent as best you can!)

This will be in a private setting with just a few members of the artistic team, not in front of all other auditioners.

From 8:30-9pm, EVERYONE will be brought into the auditorium to learn a brief dance sequence with our choreographer.

What to bring:

Dress to move: Comfortable clothing, and either gym shoes, dance shoes, or character shoes - whatever is most comfortable

Music: We invite you to prepare a song excerpt of your choice! (It does not need to be from the show). Whether it’s a verse or chorus of your favorite song, or a lullaby/refrain you love to sing, we just want to hear your voice in a song that you are already comfortable with. (roughly 32 bars).

If you would prefer a song suggestion from the show:

Youth Leads:

Soundtrack is available on Spotify & Apple Music for reference to help prepare.

Schedule conflicts: Please also bring your schedules through the end of February, so you can alert us to any conflicts you may have with the rehearsal process (mostly evenings in Jan - Feb, plus weekends daytime).

Water and Snacks as needed, especially if your time slot mandates that you be present for a long time.

Adults will be notified about callbacks by Sunday, November 17th.
Youth Leads will be notified by midnight after their audition.
Callback auditions will take place on Thursday, November 21st from 7-10pm.

What if I cannot make it to auditions?

If you absolutely cannot make it to either date of the auditions, please email so we can arrange an alternate option.

We are looking forward to meeting everyone and begin creating our show!
