The Little Mermaid Cast Audition Information

The information below is for those interested in participating in the cast (singing, dancing, flipping your fins, etc.) of the Burns Park Players' production of, "The Little Mermaid" this year. If you are planning to participate on one of the various crews, not to worry! I will be reaching out to you and your crew heads in the coming week or two. Thank you for your patience!

Audition Information:
First, thank you so much for taking the plunge and signing up to be part of the cast! We’re so excited to have all of you on board with auditions. This year we are going to be doing auditions a little differently, so here is an outline just to help everything run smoothly. We can’t wait to see you soon.

Sign Up:
We have two hour-long slots on each day of auditions (October 15 & 16th, 7 - 9pm). Please sign up for one of the two hours through Sign Up Genius. This sign up form is just for us to gauge how many people to expect.

Auditions will take place at the Tappan Middle School Auditorium (2251 E Stadium Blvd). Please arrive 10-15 min earlier than the time you sign up for in order to fill out some paperwork.

What will happen:
Be prepared to sing and learn a dance during the hour you spend with us. It’s okay if you just want to sing or only want to dance in the show, we still want to dance and sing with you at auditions, if anything just to get to know you a little bit better (remember, Ariel could barely walk, so if the dancing frightens you, you’re already ahead of an international celebrity).

What to bring:

  • Music: Please bring a 32 bar cut of a song to sing for auditions. If you don’t have a song, that’s okay! We have attached two options to this page that you can sing auditions.

“Her Voice” is a lower voice option (typically male, but not always).
“Part of Your World” is the higher voice option (typically female, but not always)

  • Schedule conflicts: Please also bring your schedules through the end of January, and let us know when you have conflicts with rehearsals (think weekday evenings November - January, and January weekends). This will help the creative team set a rehearsal schedule that fits everyone’s schedules as much as possible.

Callbacks will be sent out following auditions. Callbacks (taking place October 20th at 5 - 8pm) will be for people who indicated they are interested in a leading roles on their paperwork at auditions. There is no preparation needed. We will teach you the material at callbacks.
